3rd Annual Kayla O'Mara
Memorial Road Race
August 2, 2008
The 3rd Annual Kayla O'Mara Memorial Road Race was a tremendous success thanks to all of you who participated, all of our volunteers, and of course, all of our sponsors and the companies who donated items for our raffle.
The 10K was won by Men's Champion Justin Zanotti of Chesterfield and Women's Champion Erin O'Mara of Goodrich. Masters winners were Paulette Hoose of Fenton and Eric Green of Pontiac. Grand Masters winners were Lennie Brousseau of Byron, MI and Maggie Zydar of Pontiac. Congratulations to all of the Kayla Run winners who also take home the designation of Road Runner's Club of America Michigan State Champions!
For the third straight year, the Women's 5K was won by Sue Larsen of Fenton and the 5K Men's champion was Adam Sprangel. Womens' Masters winner was Rochelle Jones and the Women's Grand Mastes winner was Kim Weber of Goodrich. Men's Masters Champion was Tony Ketchmark and the Grand Masters winner was Terry Carmean.

All proceeds from the race benefit the Kayla O'Mara Memorial Scholarship Fund. So far, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and race participants, we have been able to award a total of $14,500 to Michigan students in Kayla's memory. Thank you all!

If anyone would like to VOLUNTEER to help out at our next race, please e-mail volunteer@kaylarun.com. We always need people to assist with registration, course workers, food tent, water station, medical, parking, course set up, clean up, awards, etc. It's a great way for high school students to get service hours and it contributes to a wonderful event.
