An email went out to all registered participants this morning. Please check your spam folder. If you are a registered participant and did not receive an email, please contact us.
As of today we are cautiously moving ahead with a plan for an exposition style Kayla O'Mara Memorial Event on August 1. In order to create a more controlled race day experience we made the hard decision to move the 10k to virtual only this year and focus on small waves for the 5k. Please read through the changes listed under the race information tab before registering for the in person 5k event.
If state guidelines change the race plan may change, including a virtual only 5k - participants who register at this time will not be given a refund but will be moved to the virtual 5kContact Us
Kayla was an All State Track & XC Runner at Goodrich High School, a Flint Falcon Swimmer, an artist, writer, student, friend, daughter, granddaughter and sister. She loved Jack Johnson and being a part of the GHS running program. Kayla is loved and missed daily.
This annual race not only keeps Kayla's memory alive, but also raises funds for a scholarship given in her memory. The scholarship is for students who exemplify qualities important to Kayla, such as academic excellence, teamwork, leadership. Scholarship winners are recognized at the race each year.
